Mr. Mayden was my high school coach at Chicago Vocational (CVS) High School.
Over the years I have come to learn that he is able, talented, sincere and charismatic.
His natural leadership, skills have made him the Pied-Piper of disadvantaged kids
in the neighborhood. He’s the baseball coach. In short, as “MY COACH”
he was a friend and positive role model for myself and many others. Sincerely,
Major League Baseball

Dear Coach Mayden,
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving our son the opportunity to play
on your travel team and opening the door to new college options for him! This has
been a life changing event and your dedication to these players is commendable!
Words cannot describe the happiness you have brought to our son and our family.
Once again, thank you for allowing our son to be a part of your baseball family
and a memorable summer!

Thanks for having me on your team this past summer. The chance I had to grow on
your team and become more confident and experienced was huge in helping me develop
as a player. I had a lot of fun playing good baseball, meeting people I would have
never met if it wasn't for your team, and just living life on the road. I will never
forget my summer playing for Coach Mayden.

awesome. He enjoyed bonding with the fellas and gaining knowledge from the coaches and
playing other talented players, so much so that he wants to play on the Summer Traveling
Team. Thanks once again for a great event in Phoenix and I look forward to connecting
with all of you soon.Take care, Michael and Julian Coulter.

Subject: HEY COACH!
Coach Mayden. I was looking at your interviews and I appreciate what you are doing for the
youth and people who want to pursue baseball. I appreciate you coaching me and the things
you taught me, not just about baseball, but some of those scenarios are also life scenarios.
Unfortunately as I look back I didn't have the maturity level I feel as a ball player, I was
skinny and felt I didn't have the proper nutrition, and my family income wasn't so great, but
now I feel I am very mature and I just really appreciate you taken the time out for all of the
guys when we was coming up.
I definitely have the nutrition now, but now I am considered old in baseball which is 34. When
I joined the Navy coach I was 126 pounds now I am at 200lbs, just wish I had the weight and
maturity level back then. life has been great, I feel my life needed something like the Navy. I
still love baseball, I throw and play catch and that's about it, but if someone out there is
looking for a lefty to come in and get an out for them, call on me. lol! But I have been the Navy
for 15 years and it's been good to me and my family. I am in VA (the Hampton Roads area), and a
lot of baseball players come from this region. Just dropping by to show my appreciation and keep
doing what you are doing. God Bless Coach.

Frank and I want to let you know that we appreciate the opportunities you have given
our sons. This is the 3rd year we have been involved with you and your organization.
We feel you have always provided what you promised. You have given Evan, Garrett
and Justin Price experience, skills and knowledge they would not have had staying
in Montana. You are a good coach with vast experience and we are happy that you
are willing to take the time to help these young men.

Coach Mayden is a wonderful man who has a ton of passion and love for the game and
the kids on this team. Every kid on the team is very happy and is having a wonderful
time. Playing in this program has been the best experience of my life. I have had
the oppurtunity to expand my knowledge of baseball, meet friends that I will have
for a lifetime, enjoy myself, and have the oppurtunity to play ball all over the

Coach, We have had many talks and i know you help the boys and willing to help under
privalaged boys play also. Trenton has learned a lot from you and has had once in a
lifetime expeirences. Even if trenton didn't go to college to play ball, he has got
to do some things most kids have not. So my family thanks you for all you do and i
feel we have a life long friendship and if you need anything we will be there for you.

Hey Rob my name is Mirek Sharp and I've just signed up to play for Coach Mayden this
summer but I have a few questions and I wanted to get players opinions. I really want
to play for Coach Mayden but I just want to make sure that this is the best place for
me this summer. How competitive are the tournaments and the team? I live in Canada and
up here we have a Single-A, Double-A, and Triple-A system. I think you have the same
system down there and if so what level would you classify the competition at? If you
don't then what do you think of the competition? Assuming that you want to play college
baseball, is this the team that will help get you there? Do you have a lot of exposure
to College scouts and coaches? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure
about things. Thanks for your help man I appreciate it.

Its cool man those are understandable questions. The competition is very intense and
the team is as well. Im not familiar with your system that you guys have but I can tell
you that it is probably the best competition you will see as a high schooler. This is your
best chance of being seen by college scouts, coaches, and even pro scouts. I have had the
best experience of my life on this team and you can bet ill be back this year. If you have
anymore questions feel free to reply back.

Merry Christmas Coach Mayden! Hope you're enjoying the Holiday Season and the
Christmas tournament which starts today. I wish I could be there, but it was not
feasible financially for me. I did E-Mail you to mention some great news which will
be made official in January. I have accepted a full tuition scholarship offer from
Carl Sandburg College, in Galesburg Illinois.
I am going there to be in the middle-infield as well as pitch the odd inning if
necessary. I could not have done any of this without you Coach. Even though I didn't
do much hitting or infield work throughout the summer I learned more in the nightly
teaching sessions than I had in 5 years of playing the infield.
I put all the instruction you gave me in to play when my team went down to the Mid-West
to play some of the top Junior College Division 2 College competition. I hit .250 in
8 games with 3 RBI's and 3 stolen bases. 4 schools had interest in me from the trip.
I played great against Carl Sandburg and the Coach offered me full tuition right after
I owe a lot of that to you Coach. You taught me so much about playing the infield from
positioning to how to cover the holes in the infield. From a hitting standpoint I learned
what counts to look for certain pitches which really helped me going against College competition.
Make sure when you have your meetings with the kids this Christmas you tell them that I
told them to pay attention to everything because it helped me land a scholarship, and it
could do the same for them. I can't thank you enough Coach. Have a great Christmas tournament!
Sincerely, Mirek, Fergus Ontario, Canada

Hey Coach Mayden it is Jake Madnick, long time no talk! I was watching some of the old video's the other day and miss the heck out of you and the guys from the team. Since I last saw you when I was 16 years old I was able to graduate high school and college, while fulfilling my dream of playing college baseball at Philadelphia University for 4 years. I credit a lot of my baseball IQ due to the classroom meetings we had that summer. The experiences I had playing for the Satchel Paige All Stars will never be forgotten.
I graduated college in the summer. Let's set up a time to talk further, I would love to hear from you. Coach Mayden, you can call me at my direct line here at work. My number is 484-567-XXX, or on my cell phone, 215-605-XXX. I hope all is well, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Somebody asked me today, "How did I learn to lead?" My answer was on the baseball field. I learned to lead by men who taught me to play a sport that I love. They trusted me enough to let me make decisions and mistakes. They were hard on me. They loved me enough to not allow me to fail (at least not believe I was a failure). I'm so thankful because of men like Mr. Jackson, Mr. Smith, Michael E. Mayden. These men taught me more about life than I will ever fully understand. I'm forever thankful for these men. #rolemodels

Hi Coach Mayden!
Thank you for the link you sent us and most importantly, I would like to give you a very big and sincere "THANK YOU" for all that you have done and continue to do for my Oscar! It's been a long overdue thank you so I'm sorry for the delay as I sometimes get sidetracked due to my hectic schedule.
I'm so happy that destiny (mainly God) put you in our path as this has helped Oscar become a better person with all the experience, your encouragement and positive things you have made possible for him in this short period of time that we have known you! He really thinks highly of you as I do! May you continue to be blessed with all your knowledge, opportunities & possibilities at your reach so that you may continue to help many more boys like Oscar! Thanks again and may you have a blessed rest of the year!
